Old PBS shows I wish were available
When I was growing up there were a lot of great PBS shows that I wish I could find now to show my brood. Shows like Commander Mark (and the secret city?), 3-2-1 Contact (and the Bloodhound Gang) and others including the Carl Sagan specials are all missing in today’s entertainment. One needs to carefully study the Discovery channel listings to find shows like Sliced which offer any real thought provoking hands on science or learning.
It appears to me that gone are the days of Mr. Wizard. I am aware that they have brought back the Electric Company and it’s new form embraces new musical styles such as hip hop – but there is sometime extremely lacking in the science content of today’s options.
Frustratingly enough, it appears that either the shows have been lost to the ether of time, or no one has thought to digitize them. I would certainly buy a full DVD release of all episodes of 3-2-1 contact or Commander Mark.
